When we buy #1 Copper or Aluminum Extrusions, we are extremely conscious of anything that will compromise the quality of these items. #1 Copper Specifications at the foundry are very strict, as are the specifications for Aluminum Extrusions. #1 Copper can have no solder, lead, tin, silver, brass, excessive dirt or oil. Aluminum Extrusions can only be 6061 or 6063 Aluminum with no zinc or steel attachments. Not just 99% clean, but 100% clean. At Metaux Depot, we have always strived to get our customers in and out in as short a time as possible, although, to be honest, some customers hang around and chat with the staff, check their “Depot- Points” card to see what they can redeem, have a complimentary cup of coffee or have a hot dog or two at the hot dog tent, also available free of charge all summer. Most of the regulars know us by name, and we know most of them by name also. In the Steel Yard , working in a completely paved yard helps keep up morale. No more unloading in ankle high mud, the yard is easy to keep clean in summer and winter. Our Office is three person collaboration. Louis, the veteran of the group, is there to weigh your trucks and advise about steel quality and Steelyard procedures. He will be the first person you see when selling steel.
